Summer School for Graduate Students OnStrong Field Laser Physicscame to a close successfully

4 September 2015---Strong Field Laser Physicsand some related cutting-edge realms are the leading international disciplines in modern Physics,even in modern sciences.Strong Field Laser Physicsalso acts an motivator in the fields of national strategic high-technology and some interdisciplinary cooperation.To catch up with the trend of our time,College of Science in Shantou University and the Graduate College hosted Summer School for Graduate Students OnStrong Field Laser Physics.

On the basis of the researches done by the professors in Department of Physics,College of Science,Shantou University,the Summer School recruited graduate students in the domains of Optoelectronics,Materials and some related subjects .A panel of prestigious and experienced leading experts are invited to deliver lectures and conduct academic exchanges,including Professor Lin chii-Dong from Kansas State University,Researcher Cheng Ya,Researcher Liu Jiansheng and Researcher Zeng Zhinan from Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Researcher Chen Jing from Beijing Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics,Professor Peng Liangyou from Beijing University,Professor Xie Xinhua from Vienna University of Technology and Wang Xiaofeng who is the editor-in-chief from China Laser Press.More experiences in academic exchanges and discussions,wider academic horizons,richer methods in doing researches and better academic atmosphere created in this Summer School, motivate graduate students to be more initiative and innovative in their future researches,as a way to improve their capability to undertake research program.

Committing to strengthen graduate students’ comprehensive ability in English and academic communication,the Summer School adopted the way of reporting in English in some parts of its process in order to develop graduate students’ capability in an all-round way.

Furthermore,a special session was arranged for the academic discussion between teachers and those prominent experts as well as a session for students to raise questions to experts.All of these efforts achieve satisfactory results.

This program mainly targets at the graduate students or doctoral students with the Optoelectronics,Materials and some related academic backgrounds.Necessary conditions are provided for the participants free of charge,such as food, accommodation and Internet accounts,etc.Over 70 teachers and students from different universities and institutes joined this program,including Peking University,Chinese academy of sciences,&Shanghai institute of optical precision machinery,Chinese academy of sciences,&Wuhan institute of physics and mathematics,Jilin University,Lanzhou University,Nanjing University of Science and Technology,Shenzhen University and Shantou University.
