Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Guangdong provincial government held the Guangdong province Science and Technology Awards Conference and Guangdong Science and Technology Innovation Conference in Gunangzhou, in the afternoon of April 29th, 2014. Guangdong provincial party committee and Guangdong provincial government leaders Hu Chunhua,Zhu Xiaodan,Ma Xingrui, Xu Shaohua, Zhou Tianhong and Liang Wei attended the conference and presented the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology awards for the award-winning representatives.

The achievements in scientific research, supramolecular coordination compounds and composition and control of their congeries ,directed by the research team of Professor Li Dan from department of chemistry of college of science of Shantou university, had the honor to win the first prize in 2013 Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Awards. This achievement achieved new breakthrough in the provincial science and technology awards in our university and it was the first time that our university obtained the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Awards with only one unit. Moreover, it is also another symbolic achievements after our department of chemistry of our university enter the global top 1% of ESI in 2012.The research team of Professor Li Dan attended this conference and accepted the prize.

Supramolecular coordination compounds and composition and control of their congeries as well as their functionalization was the sticky problem in the flied of Chemistry and Materials Science. Centering on the oriented synthesis and the self-assembly of functional supramolecular coordination compounds and their congeries, crystal structure and their property, the research team, formed by Li Dan, Huang Xiaochun, Yin Yegao, Zhou Xiaoping, Zhan Shunze, Li Mian, Wu Tao, Peng Rong, ect. undertook an systematic and deep research of them and gained a series of important achievements in finding new chemical reactions, constructing new network structures, establishing new preparation methods and so on. By reasonable designs, selection of metal ions and ligands and controlling reaction conditions, they assembled a series of new functional supramolecular coordination compounds and completed the research of crystal structure, photoluminescence, magnetic and physical and chemical stability and so on. A series of neoteric structures, advanced functional supermolecule coordination compounds and their congeries were got because they made use of the diversity of ligand structures in coordinationcompounds and metallo-coordination with the establishment of the new method of assembling some complexes.

The research is accomplished independently by the research team of Professor Li Dan and accumulated the achievements over 10 years They published more than 88 papers on the academic journals recorded by SCI, including 45 papers which have over 3.0 impact factors in SCI. Their achievements were widely quoted and gained good reputation from the experts at home and abroad. The papers are quoted by many international authoritative review journals, like the authoritative publications of Chemistry, Physics and Material Science disciplines and other SCI journals ,the total quotations accumulated 2044 times, CSCD cited 95 times and total citing was 2139 times.10 representative papers were cited 644 times, including 2 paper was cited more than 100 times in SCI, 1 paper was cited in ESI , 1 paper was selected as the outstanding scientific research achievements by Nature China , 1 paper was chosen as the research cover.
