Display technology not only requires continuous exploration in material innovation, but more importantly, disruptive innovation in device structure can truly realize the vision of "Freedom to Operate" FTO. With the rapid development of OLED display technology towards large size, ultra-high definition and intelligence, higher requirements are placed on the integration and performance of pixel circuits. This report highlights two disruptive display device designs that have opened up new paths for the future development of display technology. Firstly, we have proposed a ferroelectric memory organic light-emitting transistor (Fe-OLET) that integrates switching, light-emitting, and storage functions. This original device structure design not only significantly simplifies the pixel circuit structure and increases integration density, but also reduces the cost of technology application and display product development through the FTO strategy, making full use of existing OLED material technology. Secondly, we introduce an AC-driven organic light-emitting tetrode with an open electrode structure. This device subverts the design paradigm of traditional closed electrodes, and forms a highly open and flexible device structure through the planar electrode layout. This innovation in the device structure not only improves the designability and adaptability of devices, but also brings new application opportunities and imagination to cutting-edge fields such as human-machine interface, flexible display, and smart devices. The two original display devices presented in this report together provide a new direction for the global innovation and application of display technology.
报告人简介:
孟鸿,北京大学深圳研究生院新材料学院副院长,讲席教授,博士生导师,国家高层次人才。于斯坦福大学获博士学位。兼任中国感光协会-电致变色专业委员会副主任等职务。孟鸿教授曾在美国杜邦公司、贝尔实验室和朗讯科技从事有机光电材料研究工作。在美国杜邦公司任职期间,任高级化学家,发明了当时世界上最好的OLED蓝光材料(迄今依然是主要的商业化材料)和红光、绿光OLED材料。在美国化学会志(J. Am. Chem. Soc.)、自然通讯(Nat. Commun.)、先进材料(Adv. Mater.)发表SCI论文250余篇,出版了多本学术专著,H-Index>52。授权中国专利70余件,授权美国专利20余件。同时担任JACS、AM、AFM等多家国际学术期刊的特约评审。2021年和2022年入选爱思唯尔发布的全球前2%顶尖科学家“终身科学影响力”榜单和全球前2%顶尖科学家“年度科学影响力”榜单。
