Many polarization techniques have been harnessed for decades in industrial, biological and clinical research[1,2]. Various advanced vector measurement/sensing techniques, physical interpretation methods have been developed. Liquid crystal (LC) devices have emerged as potent tools in polarization measurement and imaging due to their versatile electro-optical properties, flexibility in design and processing.Here, we focus on summarizing the relevant methods of applying LC devices to achieve polarization measurement and imaging, with an emphasis on various kinds of liquid crystal micropolarizer array (LC-MPA)[3,4]. In addition, liquid crystal devices can also be used for spectral modulation, namely liquid crystal tunable filter (LCTF)[5], which provides new ideas for the development of new-generation spectral polarization imaging technologies in the future.
