报告题目：New findings from the research of the Holocene Pearl River delta evolution
报 告 人：宗永强 教授（香港大学）
报告人简介：Before gaining a PhD degree from the Department of Geography, Durham University, UK in 1993, Professor Yongqiang Zong had self-studied marine geology while working as a shop assistant in a butcher shop of Guangzhou and learned coastal geomorphology and Quaternary science while working as a research assistant in Guangzhou Institute of Geography. Between 1993 and 2008, he was a Postdoctoral Research Assistant, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in Geography at Durham University, specializing in studies of sea-level change and coastal hazards. Between 2008 and 2021, he has served the University of Hong Kong in Earth Sciences as an Associate Professor and Professor, directing the development of the environmental science major programme and focusing on research of monsoon climate, sea-level change, coastal evolution and typhoon hazards. Later, he was appointed as the departmental head and Editor in Chief of the international journal, Geomorphology.
