Project Introduction: Congenital cleft lip and palate ranks among the top three birth defects in China, and it is an important disease affecting China's population and health. Guided by clinical needs, this project carries out research on the mechanism, prevention and clinical treatment of congenital cleft lip and palate, and vigorously promotes technology.
(1) Innovated the Millard technique of unilateral cleft lip, pioneered the multi-technology fusion unilateral cleft lip repair, pioneered the "one"-shaped costal cartilage transplantation and Furlow method combined with buccal fat pad transfer cleft palate repair, effectively reducing the incidence of postoperative deformity and greatly advancing the surgical age.
(2) The present situation and epidemiological characteristics of cleft lip and palate in eastern Guangdong were investigated, and the unique interaction mechanism between genetic genes and environmental factors related to cleft lip and palate in eastern Guangdong was revealed, which provided a new target for the prevention and treatment of cleft lip and palate.
(3) Reveal the association between autophagy and mesenchymal cell stemness, put forward a new view that autophagy can be used as an index to evaluate the differentiation potential of stem cells, and develop a metabolic model for cleft palate screening in early pregnancy.
